The port of Leixões recorded the best first half ever in the handling of goods, with a total of 9.98 million tonnes.

Once again, the performance of Yilport Leixões was decisive for the good result of the port, for its operations of containerised cargo and ro-ro cargo.

Containerised cargo increased by 3.67% year-on-year and the Ro-Ro cargo (where Leixões is the leading national leader) increased by 11.4%!

Overall, compared to the first half of 2017, Leixões increased 1.4% in the volume of cargo handled. And with that, it increased its market share compared with the domestic competition.
