TRUCKS WAITING TIME LIMITED TO 13 MINUTES 2016-08-05 Each day, many tens if not hundreds of trucks "call" the Leixões Container Terminal to unload and / or load containers. It is a real commotion to which TCL corresponds with the maximum promptness. Not only to ensure the smooth flow of cargoes within the terminal, but also to minimise the vehicle downtime and thus help the profitability of road hauliers. And the results are plain to see: in July, despite the additional new procedures for the confirmation of the Verified Gross Mass (VGM) of each container, the average length of service of each truck at TCL was only 13 minutes. And the average length of stay by truck inside the port was limited to 44 minutes. |
