Between January and November, the movement of container in the Mainland ports grew by 4.1% to 2.48 million TEU.

Leixões and TCL continued to gain market share, presenting a year-on-year growth of 5.4% and a total movement of 605 499 TEU.

In fact, the Leixões Container Terminal has reinforced its status as an undisputed national leader in import-export trades, since here the transhipment moves have practically no expression.

On the contrary, and as the Transport and Mobility Authority (AMT) points out in its monthly report, in the port of Sines, the largest number of moves, transhipment represents about 80% of the 1.36 million TEU registered, are slightly more than 270,000 the TEU of import-export.

By the end of November, Lisbon handled close to 352,000 TEU, Setúbal almost 145,000 and Figueira da Foz, 23,000.
