The Leixões Container Terminal handled 204,553 TEU in the first four months of 2017.

Compared to the previous year, the result now reached represents a 4% drop.

In April, TCL processed a total of 51,106 TEU, a robust result that was still below (11%) compared to a year ago. It should be noted, however, that the month of April 2016 was of strikes in the port of Lisbon and TCL was asked to ensure not only the traffic that would normally use the port of Leixões, but also a part of what would go to the capital’s port.

It should be emphasised that container traffic in Leixões corresponds almost exclusively to export / import moves. Moreover, in this market, after all, what most responds to the real needs of the national economic operators, TCL is clearly an unchallenged national leader.
