TCL ONCE AGAIN ON THE DAILY 3,000 TEU 2016-08-24 They were only two TEU missing. Another 40' container handled, or two of 20' and the Leixões Container Terminal would have hit again the mark of 3,000 TEU handled in a day. It stood at 2998... It happened on Saturday, 20 August, the best day of the week no. 34 at TCL. They were then operated nine ships, resulting in the movement of 1,839 containers, to which corresponded “those" 2,998 TEU. But beyond the "fat" number of nearly 3,000 TEU handled, also deserves a special highlight the fact that, in a single day, TCL has operated nine ships (nine!), handling on average in each of them a little over 200 containers. These figures depict what is still the Leixões Container Terminal day-to-day reality, and says well of TCL’s organisational and operational ability to respond to requests in a timely manner. Moreover, throughout week no. 34 (15 to 21 August) TCL operated 26 ships and handled 5,929 containers, to which corresponded 9,697 TEU. In the same week, were admitted to the terminal by land, 2,310 containers, and from there left 3,148, a total of over 5,458 moves made at the container yard. |
