The Port of Leixões concluded in June the best semester ever in handled volumes. The containerized cargo was determining to the success.
On the first six months of the year, Leixões handled 8.3 million tons, representing a 2% growth regarding the corresponding period of last year, ensuring thus a new absolute record.
The containerized cargo was the one which more contributed to the strong global result, with a 9% growth until exceeding 2.9 million tons.
The container movement went up even more, 11%, to 180,298 TEU, turning this the best semester ever at TCL.
On the first semester of this year, Leixões handled 3,8 million tons of liquid bulk (6% more), 1.2 million tons of solid bulk (17% less), 403 thousand tons of break bulk (13% less) and 7,753 tons of ro-ro cargo (90% more.
