With only two months remaining to complete the year, the Leixões Container Terminal is moving forward towards a new absolute annual maximum.

In the first ten months of 2016, TCL equalled 542,868 TEU, totalling 5.1% more than in the same period of last year’s.

In October, TCL handled 51,154 TEU, a number that was lower than last year's, but still did not jeopardise the accumulated growth.

It should be remembered that in recent years the Leixões Container Terminal has systematically exceeded the 600 thousand TEU, despite the crisis that has affected some important markets for container traffic in the port of Leixões.

It should also be emphasised, as it is never enough, that in recent years TCL has been working on the capacity limit of the Leixões container terminal, while still maintaining productivity and capacity to respond to the needs of ship-owners and other logistics chain players.
