Between 2007 and 2016, the handling of containers at the Leixões Container Terminal grew by 50%!

The numbers were already known but were now highlighted by Theo Noteboom of PortEconomics in his most recent study on container handling in Europe.

Noteboom refers on several occasions to the case of Portugal for its rapid growth in the sector, which enabled it to practically double its market share in Europe, driven by the transhipment boom.

The renowned specialist refers in particular to the cases of Sines, Leixões and Lisbon, highlighting, in relative, the cumulative growth of 50%... without transhipment traffics, we underline.

TCL's performance is remarkable and this is all the more so as the international economic crisis and, more recently, the crisis in the Angolan market have occurred. And all the more because growth has been achieved without the much-desired - and necessary! - enlargement of the south container terminal!
