TCL EXCEEDS THE 300,000 TEU IN THE FIRST HALF
2015-07-06

Despite the harsh effects of the crisis on exports to Angola, the Leixões Container Terminal has exceeded in the first half of the year the barrier of 300,000 TEU handled.
It was precisely 303,492 TEU, corresponding to 190,483 containers.
Compared to the same period of 2014, it still appears a drop of 6%. But considering the extraordinary impact of the breakdown of movements with Angola, it is easy to conclude that, discounting this effect, the TCL continues to grow and to capture cargoes.
And indeed, in June the monthly result was already very much in line with that achieved in last year’s record month. This time handled up to 33,735 containers, equivalent to 53,854 TEU, representing an annual decrease of only 1%.
In good level remained, in June, the net productivity in ships operation. On average, for every hour of effective work were moved 40 containers.
