TCL CLOSE TO 200,000 TEU IN THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS 2015-05-05 Between January and April 2015, the Leixões Container Terminal handled 199,007 TEU. When compared to the same period in 2014, there has been a decrease of 5.99%, driven almost exclusively by the sharp slowdown in exports to Angola. Otherwise, TCL had kept, in the first quarter of 2015, the growth trend that marks the concession’s history. It, moreover, point out that the break in the handling of containers for Angola was partially counterbalance by the good performance of other traffic. So it is expected that once the situation of trade with Angola improves, it will be possible to reverse the accumulated losses. In April, the TCL handled 48,543 TEU (corresponding to 30,306 containers), thereby registering the second best monthly result this year. |
