PORT OF LEIXÕES GROWS 4.6% UNTIL AUGUST 2015-09-16 In the first eight months of 2015, the Port of Leixões handled 12.4 million tonnes, 4.6% more than in the same period in 2014. Only in August, Leixões handled 1.7 million tonnes, representing an annual increase of 16.8%. In the period of 2015 and in cumulative terms, the ro-ro cargo had the highest growth (86.5%) compared to 2014. This was followed by the dry bulk (over 21.7%), fractional general cargo (over 12.5%) and bulk liquids (over 6.1%). The containerised cargo retreated 8.6%, strongly penalised by the significant reduction in exports to Angola. |
