MORE CONTAINERS, MORE TRUCKS, FASTER SERVICE 2015-01-02 In 2014, TCL handled a record number of containers and attended a record number of trucks. And he did it with a new record service time (minimum) in the Main Gate of the Port of Leixões. In the year now ended, the TCL attended 279,051 trucks, 5% more than that reported in 2013 and the highest volume recorded in the concession’s history. However, the average service time dropped to 9.2 minutes per truck, an improvement of 2.2% over the previous record that dated since 2010! And in the meantime the number of attended trucks grew 21.1%! That is, the TCL is moving increasingly more cargo - and hence the record of containers handled – and therefore attracting more and more trucks (that are going there to unload / load), and is working faster and faster and more efficiently! Therefore, the TCL assumes itself, increasingly, as a key link and a facilitator of the logistic chains passing even more and ever more rapidly by the Port of Leixões. The service time is measured from the time the truck circulates on the VILPL (Internal Connecting Lane to the Port of Leixões) until the time it is allowed to enter the port in the Main Gate, after fulfilling all the administrative formalities. |
