"MAERSK WESTPORT" OPERATED AT “78 PER HOUR”! 2014-12-30 The "Maersk Westport" was the ship that handled more containers at the TCL, between the 22nd and the 28th of December, which corresponded to 1,137 TEU. And therefore the "Maersk Westport" was, with distinction, the Ship of the Week no. 52 at the Leixões Container Terminal, in the last full week of 2014. But the ship from the Maersk Line did not stood out among the others (there were 22 ships to call the TCL in the week) only by the number of containers handled. Also the productivity achieved in the unloading / loading operations was impressive: 78 moves per hour! In fact, less than nine hours of effective work were enough to move all containers. The "Maersk Westport" began to be operated at 8:33 of December 28 and at 18:05 of the same day was placed aboard the last container! |
