LEIXÕES WITH RECORD OF 15.5 MILLION TONNES 2015-11-25 By the end of October, the Port of Leixões totalled 15.5 million tonnes handled, 5% more than in the same period of 2014 and a new record in ten months. October was even the best month ever for Leixões, with 1.8 million tonnes handled. In cumulative terms, it is highlighted the growth of ro-ro cargo (over 79%), much to the account of CLDN Cobelfret, whose ships are operated by TCL in the Multipurpose terminal. Compared to the first ten months of 2014, the handling of liquid bulk grew 9.1%, while dry bulk advanced 12.7% and general fractional cargo 13.3%. The containerised cargo yields 8.5%, primarily as a result of the sharp drop in trade with the Angolan market. |
