LEIXÕES REACHES 17.3 MILLION TONNES IN NOVEMBER
2015-12-16

In the first 11 months of 2015, the Port of Leixões handled 17.3 million tonnes, 5.4% more than in the same period last year and a new high for the period from January to November.
Leading the growth in relative terms was the ro-ro cargo, with an annual gain of 73.7%.
Fractional general cargo grew 12.4% and the bulk - liquid and solid - rose 11.2%.
As a result of the sharp contraction in exports, particularly in trade with Angola, the containerised cargo handling dropped 8.7% year on year.
Towards the end of the year, the Port Authority now foresees reaching 18.5 million tonnes, which will represent a new record high.
