The Port of Leixões handled 5.3 million tonnes in the first quarter, which is a record for the period in question.

Containerised cargo and ro-ro cargo, in both cases with the intervention of YILPORT Leixões, made a decisive contribution to the historical result, with increases in volumes of 7.1% and 3.6%, respectively. In March alone, Leixões processed more than 1.9 million tonnes, a 33% jump over the same month in 2019.

"During this exceptional month, Leixões had a very positive performance and made an important contribution to guarantee the country's supply, demonstrating to be an infrastructure that continues to show capacity to respond to the challenges and the high demands of its users, adapting itself to the current situation with great agility ”, stressed the APDL, in a statement.
