The cargo movement in the Port of Leixões exceeded one million tons in January, representing a growth of 19% regarding the corresponding month of 2009.
The container handling was an important contribution to the good performance of the port, with an increase of 21% on the number of TEU handled at TCL, up to 37 thousand.
Liquid bulk, which has penalized the last figures in Leixões, had in January a corresponding increase of 48%, up to 600 thousand tons.
Break bulk was also high (82% more up to 60 thousand tons) and the ro-ro cargo (81% more up to six thousand tons).
