With each passing month, the Port of Leixões and YILPORT Leixões reinforce their share in the national container market.

According to figures released by AMT, 184,000 TEU were counted in the first quarter, 8% more than in the same period of 2019. In March alone, YILPORT Leixões processed 72,162 TEU, an annual growth of 23.7%.

Moreover, it is not only in container handling that the Port of Leixões is growing and gaining market share.

In the first quarter, 5.3 million tonnes were handled here, a new record, 12.7% above that achieved a year ago. This while the handling of goods on the whole of the ports in the Mainland fell, in the same period, by 3.8%.
