LEIXÕES AND YILPORT WIN MARKET SHARE2018-04-04 In the first two months of the year, and camparable to last year, the handling of goods in Mainland ports fell 8% , i. e. to 14,7 million tonnes. The port of Leixões, on the other hand, registered the best beginning of the year, with a total of 3,1 million tons, 5% more than in January - February last year. In container handling, there was an overall drop of 10% in the first two months of the year, for a total of 450,816 TEU. Yilport Leixões handled 94,006 TEU to its account, practically the same volume of the same period last year. Remarkable was the increased ro-ro cargo handling, particularly in Leixões, also with the intervention of Yilport Leixões. Afterall, Leixões reinforced its market share and so did Yilport Leixões, consolidating itself as the first Portuguese container terminal in import-export. |
