IN JANUARY THE RO-RO CARGO CONTINUES TO GROW AT LEIXÕES 2015-02-25 In January, the Port of Leixões handled 1.27 million tonnes, representing a loss of 8% when comparing to the achieved in the first month of 2014. The biggest decrease, year on year, was in general break cargo: 47%, from 55,000 to 29,000 tonnes. The liquid bulk fell 9% to 525,000 tonnes and the containerized cargo yielded 8% to 466,000 tonnes. In reverse, and positively, the dry bulk rose by 2% up to 216,000 tonnes and the ro-ro cargo more than doubled the volumes handled to around the 39,000 tonnes. |
