HAPAG-LLOYD OPTS FOR TCL TO MCA CALLS 2015-12-01 Starting today, the Leixões Container Terminal is the national call of Hapag-Lloyd’s Mediterranean Canada Service (MCA). Leixões and TCL will be the last stop in Europe before the German shipowner crossing the North Atlantic towards Montreal. The Port of Leixões’s hinterland exporters have thus, starting today, another transportation solution now directly to Canada and the US East Coast with a very competitive transit time (8-9 days to Montreal). The choice of Leixões for Hapag-Lloyd’s MCA national calls is also another recognition, by a major global player, of the responsiveness and reliability of the service provided by TCL. The new service’s first call at TCL is ensured by the ship "Stadt Dresden", one of the six ships that the shipowner keeps at his service. As is tradition, the moment was marked by the delivery of an evocative plaque to the ship's captain, by representatives of the Port Authority and TCL. |
