EIGHT SHIPS OPERATED IN A SINGLE DAY 2016-01-20 It happened on January 13. In a single day, the Leixões Container Terminal operated eight ships. It will not be an overflow, but it should always be remembered, on the one hand, the physical and operational limitations of TCL and, on the other hand, the implicit requirements in the rotation of ships and in the unloading/loading of (only) hundreds of containers by ship. On January 13, the best day of week no. 3 at TCL, the operation of the eight ships resulted in the handling of 1,697 containers, or 2,721 TEU. In the balance of the week (comprised between 11 and 17 January), were operated 26 ships and 7,024 containers, or 11,379 TEU were unloaded/loaded. Further compounded the 6,914 containers handled at the container yard, with the entry of 3,561 boxes and the exit of another 3,353, by land. |
