CONTAINERS RECORD IN NATIONAL PORTS 2015-03-11 The main national ports handled, in January 2015, a total of 200,851 TEU, according to information released by the IMT. Given the 2014 start, the result now achieved represents an increase of 7.4%, confirming the trend that has been noticed in recent years. In Sines, were moved 101,889 TEU (10.1% more). Leixões, as a result of the reduction in exports to Angola, handled only 47,667 TEU (4.5% less). Lisbon reached 39,892 TEU (11.3% more). Setúbal reached 9,531 TEU (more 28.6% year-on-year), while Figueira da Foz reached 1,860 TEU (45.2% more). The IMT statistical report does not distinguish types of containers traffic, including transhipment movements and movements of import / export. |
