CONTAINERISED CARGO LEADS AT LEIXÕES

Containerised cargo was the most handled at Leixões in the first seven months of the year, according to the data released by the Port Authority.
Between January and July, the port of Leixões handled 10.4 million tonnes. The containerised cargo reached 3.9 million tonnes.
Year-on-year, while the overall result of the port fell 3%, the overall general cargo handling in containers has advanced 11%.
In high they were also the ro-ro cargo (27% and 494,000 tonnes) and break bulk (713,000 tonnes, over 6%).
On the other side of the scales weighed especially the 17% drop in liquid bulk (to 3.8 million tonnes) and, to a lesser extent, the dry bulk (1.5 million tonnes, less 3%).
