APDL AND TCL TO CELEBRATE THE DAY OF THE PORT OF LEIXÕES 2016-09-15 It is already next Saturday, 17th September, that is celebrated another Day of the Port of Leixões. Again, following the tradition, the Port of Leixões opens to the city, offering to those who visit a vast program of activities, taking place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. About 20,000 people are expected. This is another opportunity for those interested to get to know better the Port of Leixões and the work that is developed in the various terminals, on guided bus tours. The Leixões Container Terminal is associated, with pleasure and pride, with the celebrations of the Day of the Port of Leixões and also will open its "doors" to the visitors, who then can directly observe the work of a fundamental infrastructure for sustainable socio-economic development of the region and the country. Born and raised in the urban centre of the city of Matosinhos, built in the parishes of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira, the Port of Leixões is a case study of good relations between ports and cities, with mutual benefits. Just as a curiosity, but not only, to recall that still last Sunday, 11th September, was held with great success the 3rd Race of the Port of Leixões, which joined many hundreds of participants, running or just walking, with much of the race course within the port perimeter. |
