A TRUCK SERVED EVERY 16 MINUTES
2016-05-07

As a result of external factors, the movement of containers at TCL has undergone a rapid acceleration, with ships making more movements on calls and an increased flow of trucks and trains at the Leixões Container Terminal’s land entrances and exits.
Nevertheless, and with the cooperation of everyone involved, TCL could respond promptly to the increased needs and maintain a high operational capacity, thereby reducing the constraints on supply chains.
And so it was possible, despite the brutal increase in truck traffic, to maintain high rates of reception and delivery of containers. On average, in April, the length of service of each truck at TCL was only 16 minutes. And on average each truck which demanded the Port of Leixões and TCL delivering or collecting containers remained only 40 minutes inside the port perimeter.
