A TRUCK SERVED EVERY 14 MINUTES
2016-07-05

Fourteen minutes, on average, was the time each truck - of the thousands that called the Leixões Container Terminal every month - waited to be served at TCL, in June.
The average length of service respects either to trucks entering TCL to load containers, or those going there to unload boxes or perform both operations.
In both cases, to be noted, unloading / loading of a container means, most often, more than one movement. For there to deposit and lift containers at the container yard and this supposes frequently moving other boxes.
With all this, the average length of service of trucks at TCL is only a fraction of the reduced length of stay of vehicles within the port perimeter, which was set, in June, on average, a total of 40 minutes.
